CLASS PROJECT: FAMOUS CELEBRITIES IN HISTORY

OBJECTIVES

The objective of this project is to create the biography of a relevant personality or  personalities; this person should be important in the areas of Language, Literature, Music, Science or Arts.

CONTENTS AND PROCEDURE

1. Choose a relevant personality. You can either choose your own (please talk to your teacher) or choose one for the following list

 A. Language and Literature:
      Willian Shakespeare, William Defoe, The Brönte Sisters, Jane Austen, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,  John Tolkien, CS Lewis, JK Rowling, Beatrix Potter, Herman Melville, Edgard Allan Poe, Raymond Chandler.


B. Science
     Archimedes of Syracuse, Pithagoras, Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Ada Lovelace, Jane Goodall, Florence Nightingale, the Wright Brothers, Nikola Tesla

C. Music
    The Supremes, The Beatles, Queen, Elvis Presley, Johny Cash, Billie Holliday, Michael Jackson, Amy Whinehouse, Madonna

2. Create a written biography of the character. Your biography must include the following elements
  a. Birth Information?
  b. Why is this person important?
  c. What are his accomplishments?
  d. Personal Information
  e. Important events in his/her life
  f. A quote

3. Presentation
 Make a brief presentation of your character. You should include any audiovisual element or props to make your presentation more interesting.

4. The Great personality Quizz Game
Make your contribution to the great quiz in learning apps. Please ask your teacher to get your access code

The assessment chart is individual for each student. You must comply with the following elements

Creating monsters for Halloween

 ON OCTOBER 15, 2015
We are going to create and describe a monster for Halloween week.
We will decorate the classroom with all your monsters. Next Monday 26th you will give your teacher a description and a monster created using pencils, crayons, paper, cardboard or any other materials. Don’t write your name on the monster. Keep it secret! Be creative!
You will write sentences describing the physical characteristics of a monster.
Include all this information in this order:

COUNTRY: He/She is from …
AGE: He/ She is ten years old.
COLOUR: He/ She is blue, grey, white, purple, etc.
PARTS OF THE BODY: He/ She has two big ears, four arms, six fingers in each hand, two small horns on his/her head, etc.

English For Easy Writing Final Task
Objective
The purpose of this task is to help the student to develop skills that will help him or her in the preparation of a Trinity / B1 preparation exam.
Content
Every student will have to handle a portolio of a series of tasks, each one of them from one of the ISE I task assignment sheet. 
The student must also handle a Topic form developed by him or herself, using the model provided by the ISE I Examination board
The task will be handled through electronic using a Word processor. Your work must be original, with plagiarism severly punished.
Assessment
Assessment will take into account the criteria in the ISE Feedback Form. Just for your information remember to pay attention to the following points

2.       Write an article for a family magazine about rules teenagers have to follow in your country. Describe two of these rules and give your opinion of them. Say what happens if someone breaks the rules. Write 110-130 words


Section 3. Creative and Descriptive Writing
1.       Write a story for a writing competition beginning with the words “There is one school rule I ‘ll never break again…” describe this rule, say how your broke it and explain why this had serious consequences. Write 110-130 words


2.       Write the diary of a famous sportsperson on a day when she/he is training hard to get fit. Give details about exercise and food. Write 110-130 words
